I wish it really were that simple though. If it was, everybody would slap a few banners up on their pages and become millionaires. I am here to tell you that being an affiliate is very difficult unless you know what you are doing. I have done this for years yet I still learn something every day. The key to this business is to test, re-test and then test and re-test again and again.

Did you know you can actually affiliate with Wal-Mart? You can, but affiliating with Wal-Mart is not real easy. Think about it. If someone wants to buy something at Wal-Mart they will probably go directly to their website and buy directly from them. The best way to make business when you affiliate with companies like Wal-Mart is to create review sites. On a review site, you will take one particular item that Wal-Mart sells and review it. If the person reading your review clicks through the link you give them and they purchase it, you will get the commission. I have found this to be the most successful way of working with the larger companies of this kind. Also, the search engines are good about picking up your page high in the rankings if you title it, “Yardman 5.5 HP Lawnmower Review”. Notice I put review in the title. Many people will type in review when looking for a particular product. You have a good chance of ranking higher by doing this. of course, the down side is having to write numerous review pages for numerous items. The most successful people who affiliate with the Wal-Marts of the world will write a review and then give numerous links of comparison prices.

You can also affiliate with Clickbank. I have made a huge amount of money through my affiliation with Clickbank. Clickbank mainly offers thousand upon thousand of digital products that can be downloaded instantly. You get big commissions from the people who created the products. Some pay as much as 75%. You absolutely must write a review in order to get people interested in these products.

Here is where you can make it big on Clickbank. Find a Clickbank product and do a search for it. You will find page after page of reviews of that product but if you take a look at most of them, they are all copy and paste articles that the author gave the website owners. You can write an original review and many people will stumble across yours and be so happy that they found a review that is not just regurgitated trash like the others that they will often purchase through your link. of course, the best reviews are made by people who actually purchased that product. I once thought that reviewing multiple products would bring untold riches to me but I found out that giving quality reviews to one or two products make me more money than doing it the way the lazy people do it.

Use an auto-responder with your review page and offer a free report and your profits can zoom. I will cover that topic later.

There are dozens of affiliate sites you can sign up with to find companies to affiliate with. Remember, that you will be asked if you are an advertiser or a publisher. You are a publisher. I have found the following to be my favorites:
